Fishing

Make Kebler Corner basecamp for your next Colorado fishing adventure! For both spin rod and fly rod fishermen, the North Fork of the Gunnison and the Gunnison River are abundant with Rainbow and Brown Trout. The famed Taylor River (near Gunnison, CO) is home to some of the largest Rainbow Trout in Colorado; the Taylor River has a Kokanee Salmon run that occurs every fall.

If you prefer lake fishing, this area is also home to several high alpine lakes and streams that contain Cutthroat, Brook Trout and more, which you can find here. Try your luck in Paonia Reservoir or Crawford State Park Reservoir where you can fish for Perch and Crappie as well as Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass or even Northern Pike.

You can even try your luck right here at Kebler Corner. The Anthracite Creek runs right through our property, and is home to Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout. While we can’t give away too many secrets, there are a few honey holes!

While in the area, you may also want to visit the Hotchkiss National Fish Hatchery – it is the perfect family field trip for fish enthusiasts.

Fishing licenses can be purchased online by visiting the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website. We do not sell them at Kebler Corner. Please contact us for more information regarding our on-site fishing policies and opportunities on the Anthracite Creek.

Wineries

The North Fork Valley features the West Elks American Viticultural Area – home to some of the highest elevation vineyards in all of North America, and boasting some of the best wine in the country. The North Fork Valley features local wineries and eateries that will keep you coming back for more. Relax, sip and enjoy the incredible vistas.

If you aren’t able to make it to these beautiful wineries, don’t worry any longer! Here at Kebler Corner, we have a fully stocked liquor store and offer several different varieties from the local wineries. Stop in and grab a bottle – or two!

Markets & Restaurants

Whether you are in the mood for baked goods, mexican, pizza, BBQ, burgers, healthy farm-to-table cuisine, or a quick cup of coffee, the diverse restaurants in the North Fork Valley have you covered! Or you can stop by one of the local farm markets and pick up some fresh, local ingredients to prepare a homemade meal at your campsite. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of wine from one of the awesome wineries in town!

New Layer what people say “There as few places as special in this world as the convergence of what happens at Kebler Corner. As a Colorado local and avid camper, I can think of no place that is even similar.  But I think what makes it truly so special are the people that are at Kebler, especially the owners, Emily and Paul, whose dedication and love for this amazing place is felt in the way they connect with you, help you, and care for their property. We have been going here multiple times a year since the year it opened and its still never enough” — Jenny P
